In sad news completely unrelated to the practice of law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, NBC has announced that it will not renew Law & Order for another season. The show that taught millions of people about the basics of the criminal justice system and encouraged thousands of law students, such as myself, to aspire to be Jack McCoy, will no longer entertain us with its hour long formulaic “ripped from the headline” legal puzzles.
It is not all bad news I suppose… Law & Order will continue to live on during TNT’s daily marathon and NBC has picked up another season of Special Victims Unit as well as announce another Law & Order spin-off.
